See The Views At Andrew's Bald This Sunday

Andrew's Bald is a short (4 mi. round trip) hike and you'll see a gorgeous 300 degree view, take lots of pictures at your leisure, and still make it back safely before sunset. For some, this is a revisit of those pretty views while getting a moderate workout to get there! This is a remarkable place with lot's of blackberries and other foliage and wildlife. As always, there is a chance of rain in the afternoon, so take a rain cover. They can be purchased at Food City for about 3 bucks! There is some hill climbing on the way back, so wear decent footwear. We'll meet near the front door of the Sugarlands Visitor Center and carpool from their. Afterwards, those who have time, will gather at the Ol' Smoky Brewery For Dinner in Gatlinburg. DONATIONS ARE APPRECIATED

We'll begin our journey for a moderate 2+ mile downhill hike to the the very beautiful clearing called the "Bald". While there, we'll bask in the profound views of the great Fontana Lake area of North Carolina. For more details about this hike, check out the following link:

Please let me know if  you have extra room in your vehicle for fellow hikers to ride with you from Sugarlands to Clingman's Dome's parking lot and back.

I encourage everyone to soak up the sun and fun with a nice bunch of folks in God's magnificent playground called; The Great Smoky Mountains This Sunday!

I want to thank Ray, Mark, Kat, and Steve for their encouragement in my time of difficulty. There were others but I fail to recall their names. Everyone was very helpful and patient above normal human compassion. I am sorry I slowed your hike down. But feel blessed to have met such wonderful people.

Marsha, it was good to make a memory with you and your son Brian (a fine young man) and with all the others in our crew. You showed uncommon perseverance in the face of pain and difficulty, and I am very glad we all made it back safe and sound. Praise to God.

I'm so grateful for everyone pitching in and being so patient, especially Ray, who showed an amazing talent to encourage our hiker who was in distress! Mark was also a great comfort as well. We all made it back safely, no injuries and for me, to see so many relative strangers come together as a family, inspired me to no end!

Different than any way I have seen the mountains yet. The mountain views seemed up-close. The views were very different on each side and changed rapidly with the clouds and sun. I made an unforgettable memory.
