We do not have a support group in our area and after meeting others with Celiac Disease, Gluten Intolerance, and food allergies I feel there is a need for this type of group. Betsy's Bakery has graciously offered their restaurant to us for our meetings. Betsy also has Celiac Disease so there is no worries about cross contamination so we can have a safeplace to meet without worries of illness. Many of us have a lot of problems when eating outside of our homes so this gives us an opportunity to get out safely. A lot of people are having problems with cooking Gluten Free so I also want this group to be able to share recipes and for us to each help each other with our restricted diets and lifestyles so we can all enjoy life without illness.
I have Celiac Disease confirmed via positive biopsies.
At this time both MSG (monosodium glutamate) and cantaloupe will cause anaphalaxis. I also have a ton of other environmental and medication allergies and I find each year I have more and more new allergies.
I have both Celiac Disease and food allergies. I started this group as a source of support and education for others who either must live a gluten free lifestyle or who choose to and who also have food allergies.
I enjoyed the conversations and people and location
