HIKING

SUN, FEB 17 PATAPSCO STATE PARK (AVALON AREA): An 11 mile moderate to strenuous hilly hike along the Patapsco River, two pretty streams, several view points, ruins and a suspension bridge. Cost: $5 for carpool fee (+$2 for nonmembers). Meet at 9:30 a.m. at Forest Glen Metro. leaders: Duncan T and Nora P.

As we carpool from the metro station to the trailhead, there is no need to make reservations.  Be mindful that a critical number of cars and drivers are needed to transport people to the trailhead.

If you have any questions you are encouraged to contact the leaders at (703)[masked]

Good -- Duncan led a nice hike, despite wind, cold, and lots of mud. I'd like to do it again when the trail is a bit drier. I appreciated his waiting at trail intersections and the tops of hills.
