WHEATON REGIONAL -NW BRANCH SLIGO CREEK PARKS

An easy paced 6.1 mile circuit hike that follows the park network trails, switching from park to park. Bring water, lunch/snack, appropriate clothing and shoes for a winter hike. Cost $1.00 carpool fee (+$2 for nonmembers) Meet at 10 a.m. at the Glenmont metro "Kiss & Ride" or 10:15 a.m. at Wheaton Regional Nature Center, located at 1400 Glenallen Ave., Wheaton, MD 20902. Walking directions to the Wheaton Regional Nature Center from Glenmont Metro are as follows:

exit the metro center and walk to Layhill Rd. Wlk north on Layhill Rd. to Glenallen Avenue, then south on Glenallen Ave. to Randolph Rd. Cross Randolph Rd. and continue down Glenallen Ave. past Brookside Gardens to the nature center, on the right. (distance 1.1 mile one way)

Driving directions to the nature center: From the intersection of Georgia Ave.and Randolph Road, head northeast on Randolph Rd, pass the fire station, take the 2nd right turn onto Glenallen Ave, go through the stop sign at Brookside gardens and turn onto the nature center parking lot. (distance about 1 mile)
