DUE TO EXTREMELY THICK WEEDS I AM CANCELING THE LONG PADDLE. THE SHORT EASY PADDLE IS STILL BEING DONE WITH SWIMMING IN THE SPRINGS BEING ADDED.
I AM ADDING A SILVER RIVER PADDLE ON SUNDAY
Sunday morning you can paddle 4 miles downstream from head springs to the bridge and back to the Alexander Springs park (easy - very beautifull paddle - 2 miles each way).
After the paddle we will relax and swim in the cold spring waters of Alexander Spring.d
We will set up base camp at Alexander Park for both Friday and Saturday evenings. We will paddle Juniper Saturday and Alexander Springs Sunday. Again well will do a pot luck dinner on Saturday night only - on you own for Friday night.
Alexander trip description; putin at Alexander park; Alexander Springs is a first-magnitude spring with a flow of 76 million gallons daily. The springhead is in a large pool about 200 feet in diameter that is a popular swimming area. Beyond the springhead, the creek runs down a wide channel bordered by palm, maple, pine and live oak draped in Spanish moss. Water lilies, cattails, and other vegetation thrives atop the water, channeling the stream flow.
We will run our own shuttles.
