I know this is a last minute addition but feel free to join me and a friend to check out this museum. This is the last day of their latest traveling exhibit so I wanted to go. This is a well-behaviored, kid-friendly event.
In addition to their permanent exhibit, they currently have a traveling exhibit featuring paintings, sculpture, prints and photographs by 43 black artists who explored the African American experience from the Harlem Renaissance through the Civil Rights era and the decades beyond, which saw tremendous social and political changes. All 100 artworks in the exhibition are drawn from the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s rich collection of African American art.
In addition, on the museum grounds is a beautiful biking and hiking trail that surrounds Lake Formosa and lets visitors view the extensive sculpture garden.
I will email attendees my cell phone number to make it easier to find me.
