The Econ is the staple of Central Florida wilderness paddling. We will paddle from Hwy 419 to Snowhill Rd. bridge. We will shuttle cars before we head out on the river. This trip will be 10+/- miles and stop for break and lunch along the river.

This will be a great trip for both experienced kayak and first time or novice kayakers. There will be no rentals available.

A canoe or kayak cart will be helpful at the launch site.

What to Bring: Check the files section for lists of suggested supplies and equipment needed for Canoe/Kayak day trips. Everyone on the water is required by law to have a PFD and whistle. It is suggested that PFD's be worn

Directions: Click the map above for directions from your home. The launch is on SR 419 about 1/2 mile east of Lockwood Blvd.

Beautiful day. The river had lots of people visiting today with bikes, hiking, swimming, sunbathing, fishing, paddling canoes and kayaks and a clean up crew as well. The weather was warm and delightful. Small group that we were, we had a wonderful time learning about each other and enjoying a Springlike day.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
