Kings Landing launch and rentals
You can launch from Wekiva Falls Resort.
Tell them you are only launching kayak, and they usually charge less than daily rate. There is a lovely channel. NOTE how to reenter channel to find your way back.!!!. Channel runs into a river, you can go right or left. There is a little shade if you turn south, but some parts are SUNNY. I've done that solo twice. BEST place to launch is a grass bank just past the Kayak/canoe rentals. Lovely bathrooms and showers. When you get in, head for Marina.
Also has a nice water area for the kids.

"Dean & Tyra are planning on a Sunset/Moonrise paddle from Al's Landing at the Tavares City Docks to Dora canal and back on June 13th...this is one of 2 dates this year when the sunset and moonrise are within a period you can enjoy both within a short period of time from each other. We are doing an out and back paddle, putting in and taking out at the dock of "Seaplane City" in Tavares. I see your doing a long stay at Wekiva SP that week and figured to sent you and all your meetup folks an invitation to join us for something different on that ominous of dates of June FRIDAY the 13th evening. Its about a 35 minute drive up 441 to Tavares from Wekiva SP. The canal is about 1 and 1/2 miles from the dock; the canal is little over a mile in length; so it'll be maybe 6 miles total paddle. We'll launch around 7:15p.m. (sunset is 8:21; moonrise is 9:05 on the 13th ). Al's landing is a great venue to have dinner before our launch, or after the paddle for a little libation and live music. We hope to see you soon. D&T "
