Fisheating Creek padding and camping at Fisheating Creek Outpost

We will be camping Friday and Saturday nights - paddling on  Saturday and Sunday.

We will not be doing the shuttle although if individuals want to pay the shuttle fee that will be your decision. We will be paddle up and down stream.

Fisheating Creek Outpost offers camping, paddling, hiking and eco-adventures along one of the most pristine creeks in Florida. They're based near the small town of Palmdale, just west of Lake Okeechobee and north of the Everglades.

Pot Luck on Saturday night

It is the perfect place to get up-close to nature. Paddling the cypress swamps or hiking the hardwood forests you can see alligators, turtles, deer, wild boar, turkey, wading birds, raptors, an occasional black bear and more.

We will camp at the campground on Friday night and Saturday nights

Lisa, thanks for putting this together. I love the opportunity to paddle in new waters. The paddle and camp ground were both a great choice.

Sam, For those of us that are beginners, when a trip is posted, could there be a way of allowing us to know if it's a Primitive or Car Camping trip? Maybe there is and I just don't know how to "read" it? It would help me to understand whether it's a trip for me or not! Thanks, Gail

This is scheduled the same weekend as Juniper Springs. What gives? Has Juniper Springs been canceled? Sam how will you be at both places?

    • Jim D.

Juniper has not been canceled. Sam is currently scheduled to be there. Unless he has cloned himself you will find him there. :)

OK, I reserved site #14 on the creek for my tent/canopy, will be glad to share. The CG allows 4 people with $3 per person extra above the 4, and 2 cars at the site with extra cars to the parking lot.

Will be happy to lead a kayak trip to see the Memorial Cypress, and further down to Paradise Lake on Saturday and return. Paradise Lake is about 7 miles round trip and the scenery is spectacular.

You can drive to all campsites at Fisheating Creek Campground. The tent area has no water and electric hookups except for a few sites, and the RV area has water and electric. The primitive sites are mostly tree covered and on or near the creek. There are shower and bathroom facilities in the tent areas. Hope this helps ! I'll post my site as soon as I make a reservation in the tent area.

Sam, the camping area with electric is like an open field and not as scenic as the tent area. I'm not sure if tents are allowed in the RV section. The tent sites are very beautiful and many are waterfront. I reserved one spot near the tent area with electric for Friday and Saturday.
