Ocklawaha River, Moss Bluff to Ray's Landing, overnight trip

After the shuttle we will put in at Moss Bluff park on Hwy 314 then go through the locks, dropping about 20 feet to the river. We will only paddle about 2=3 miles and camp on a bluff overlooking the river.  In the morning we can take our time as the remainder of the trip is about 12 miles to Ray's Landing.

This is primitive  camping - you must bring everything you need. There are no 7-11's along the river. This is not a section paddled very often, so we should have the river to ourselves.

There is plenty of wildlife to be seen and heard (owls).

Late start time due to work in am - still plenty of time though to do a few miles and enjoy each others company.

Excellent Charles - I can carry 2 boats to get back to your truck. That takes care of our shuttle w/no problems. If anyone else signs up, we will adjust of course. I have lots of extra straps, etc. Oh, we are going to have such a grand time. Looking forward to meeting you.

    Happy birthday Lynn.
I have a rack that slides in to the bed of my truck. If your kayak can ride on its side we should be able to carry three kayaks on the bottom and Dave's canoe on top of the rack.

Julie I have never carried 2 yaks but don't see why I couldn't...just would need extra straps. My cell is[masked]-7864. I have Sprint and usually have service. My phone will be charged but it will go OFF once we hit the water! I am really looking forward to this trip too...extra hour of sleep Saturday night and my birthday is Sunday :)

    Re: shuttle
I can carry 2 yaks, can everyone else?
I have Metro PCS and my service is awful out of towns. I really hope someone has a phone (ATT) that will work. If it it the last hour before the meet up time, I may never know you called. My number:[masked] Texting as well may be a no-go.
Email me your phone number, please.
I am so looking forward to this escape - please don't bring your technology and let it intrude.

I have changed the time to 1pm - won't have to rush to set camp while daylight.

I am going to try to get up there earlier - will be able to post change(s) Thursday, if not sooner. Hope to do earlier due to dark, shuttle, etc. We will have great fun though
