Canoe Outpost Poker Ride and Concert (Come Join the Fun) We will be camping too

Come join the fun. This is an event put on by the Little Manatee Canoe Outpost. It is not an official Slacker event but I thought it would be a fun event to be a part of.

If there is enough interest perhaps we could camp out Saturday night prior to our paddle on Sunday.

Yeehaw! Fun time, great music, superb campfire. I didn't make the poker run but it sounds like fun. Canoe Outpost really outdid themselves. A+ in customer service!

    Hi all,

I talked to Canoe Outpost today. If you want to enjoy the free shuttle you need to play which means you need to pay. Sooooo its $20 for the poker run. I'm pretty sure that includes the free shuttle and lunch and the concert from 4-6 pm. Its $20 per tent to camp. Just thought I'd let everyone know so they have their $20 bills handy.

    How's the water level?

    • Sam G.

The water level as of Thursday Morning was just above 3'. We could use some rain today but it is doable at this level.

I just spoke to the Canoe Outpost. They have plenty of tent camping available in the group section and are expecting us. The camping cost will be $20 per tent, per night so sharing is encouraged. Some of the band members from the Sat concert will be playing and singing around the campfire Friday night. We will be doing the poker run as a group Sat morning. I did this last year and it was a lot of fun. Any other questions, please let me know. Sam turned over leading this one to me since he can't make it for the Sat paddle, but is planning to camp with us Sat night. Feel free to call me @[masked]

Where are we camping? Do I need to call and make reservations? State Park? How tough are turns etc. at the river? Many obstacles? Planning to be there Saturday mid afternoon. When is the group planning to be there?

    January 16, 2013

    • Sam G.

Camping at Little Manatee Canoe Outpost. Turns on the river are easy. I have paddled it in a 12' and a 16" kayak. Some people are coming Friday and Saturday and others are coming just for Saturday
