If he doesn't want to use his time organizing events, then he shouldn't. But don't claim he's doing it because he's a nice guy and cares about the group. He's demanding payment from all members which does equate to $7000 per year, hardly doing it for free.

All you do is show up,have fun, then leave. How many Events has Sam been to personally? Maybe over 200? Each Event takes 3 hours minimum to plan. That is 600 hours just in planning. Not including travel time to and from events, plus fuel, and wear and tear to vehicle. Breathe.

When I spend $50.00 in gas to get to an event....$10.00 a year for so many great opportunities seems minor !! Another local outdoor group charged $5.00 for EACH outing. Why are you guys whining about $10.00 a YEAR for countless activities?? Seven-thousand dollars !!! Are you kidding. So far we don't have 200 paid members...that's $2000.00 and it still doesn't cover Sam's and other peoples costs. The best part of the charge is it gets rid of those who RSVP and are no shows and don't have the decency to cancel so others can attend events or who have NEVER attended a single event. Membership in SLACKERS is NOT a merit badge. It is an interest in going outdoors. If your idea of being outdoors is sending emails at the
