As the weather is changing, most of us are getting itchy for getting out outside to ride. As you are planning your season, Peoria Bicycle Club with the support of IVW is hosting, for the first time, a Racer Development Series, which kicks off at the A 2 parking lot at ICC on Sunday March 23rd, and will be held four consecutive Sunday afternoons (March 23, March 30,April 6, and April 13) from 2-5 pm. The purpose of this clinic series is to help bicyclists develop safety, racing, and group riding skills. While PBC realizes that IVW is not a racing club, there are skills that will be taught that riders of all levels will benefit from. I want to emphasize that this is not intended for expert racers. It is open to beginner men, women and Junior racers, as well as those who have never raced before but want to develop their skills. A bike repair and maintenance demo, and a nutrition discussion are also planned. At the clinic, groups will be divided based upon gender and ability to try to make this work smoothly and have everyone get as much out of it as possible. I have already had several men and women of different levels excited about coming out to this clinic. The fee will be $10 per session or $20 for the series. Please feel free to spread the word to anybody interested in learning and developing to be better, safer bicyclist. Hope to see some of you out there!
