Intermediate level Canoeing Class - Peoria Park District.

  • Jun 26, 2014 · 5:30 PM

I am posting this for Chad and Jeff Fitch. It's info on some great canoeing classes right here in Peoria for anyone interested in helping or attending.

This is the intermediate level class which looks quite fun to me.  It's $10 and deal with some specific situations such as getting back in a canoe from the water,  emptying water from a canoe and rolling even.

The location is not specified so ask the Park District when you call.

Spots filled up quick last year so anyone you know wishing to join us that wants to learn some basic canoeing skills without buying a canoe should come!!

Like the brochure says - contact the camp office [masked]  to reserve your spot if you want to attend.

:) The Term " Rolling" was misused in the wording of the ad to mean.....if you roll your canoe over or "tip"your canoe over NOT making a 360 degree maneuver. That would be way out of bounds for an intermediate class. :) We will however cover: Gear, Proper paddling techniques (on shore session), water etiquette ...aka.....paddlers responsibility to others and environment plus (on water session) actually paddling using the proper techniques around a buoyed course and last but not least.... How to get back in your canoe after you tip. See you at Camp Wokanda!!! Jeff
