I have 4 kayaks, a 15'4 Necky eliza sea kayak, 12' perception tribute for rivers, a 9' jackson rogue crossover, and a 9 foot perception swifty. The latter is an extra wide/stable but slow beginner kayak I have to try and corral people into kayaking with me who have never done it before.
I've paddled mostly Illinois and midwestern rivers - the Fox, Spoon, Mazon, Vermilion etc., Illinois and Mississippi backwaters and some in the Ozarks like Jack's Fork. I have not done much whitewater, since it doesn't hardly exist in illinois. I would consider myself an intermediate level paddler. I know how to read water levels. I've done mostly only class one rapids with only a few class 2 rapids.
I also belong to the Mackinaw and Saukenuk canoe clubs. I joined Prarie State Canoeist recently to try and learn some new rivers.
More paddling and to learn new rivers! I'd like to make more paddling friends too.
I love paddling. Anyone interested in paddling daytrips on the weekends can contact me. Anything within 90 minutes from Peoria is ok. I like longer paddles and prefer areas with alot of birds or scenery to watch.
