Book Group “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks” by Rebecca Skloot

Hi Everyone

This month the book is "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" by Rebecca Skloot.

Just like the previous meetings we will meet at 19h and start talking and debating.

It can be difficult to find each other in the Festival Hall. Here is a map of where we usually meet.
Being creatures of habit, we have been meeting behind the shop, underneath the stairs. Area 2 on the map!

Don't forget! You can bring your own drinks and food!

As usual you can find it on Amazon. Don't forget to use the link from the BHA's website.

An interesting development in the story of Henrietta Lacks is covered in Nature this month...

I'd like to volunteer two book suggestions: 1. Abraham On Trial-The Social Legacy of Biblical Myth by Carol Delaney. And-
    2. Sex & God- How Religion Distorts Sexuality by Darrel Ray
Both books point to some potentially good discussion I would think.

Excellent discussion, shame there were not more people there as it was all very invigorating. For anyone out there who is thinking of coming along - go on - you know its going to be good !!! Thanks again to Babtiste and Ben.

Very powerful and moving book, the best of investigative journalism.
We all owe Henrietta Lacks a vote of thanks--we've each benefitted from her life. She should've benefitted too from what she gave us.
