7th Annual CLHG Picnic in Hyde Park

Please come and join us for our 7th annual CLHG Picnic.

As for previous picnics we will meet on the slope opposite the fountains at the end of The Long Water, from 2.00 p.m.

Some people stay for the whole afternoon and into the early evening, others joined us for just a couple of hours, so please join us for as long as you wish.

Please bring a picnic blanket or a small deckchair, if you prefer, and whatever picnic faire and drinks you wish. It might be a good idea to post in your response what you will be bringing along, to avoid a surfeit of strawberries, or humous.

To find us simply come out of Lancaster Gate tube cross the road into the park turn left and you will see us on the slope under/near the trees - beyond the fountains (as in the photo below).

Should the weather not be kind to us we will adjourn to the Swan Pub close to Lancaster Gate tube station.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

By the way there are toilets close by near the gate.

    It's not humous, but hummus.

It's bound to be a humourous event, whatever :-)

This was mentioned last year in the comments. Most people seem to think that Kensington Gardens is Hyde Park, when in fact they are separate. One of the differences is that Kensington Gardens closes at dusk every day, whilst Hyde Park closes at midnight.

I think you'll find that I used to say Kensington Gardens but when it was changed I just let it go. Perhaps someone thought Hyde Park resonated more with people. What's in a name hey!

Sadly I have to miss this great picnic as a friend is flying in and we are off to the Bluebell Railway. Hope It dry for all of us.

Quiet! What's that? Oh yes, the sound of hairs splitting :-). I'll try to be there. It would be nice to put some personalities to names and faces!
