"From Greece to the Galapagos: Aristotle, Darwin, and the Diversity of Life" - the two greatest naturalists of all time are Aristotle and Darwin. In this lecture, Prof. Armand Leroi takes us on a journey from Greece to the Galapagos and explains why these two great thinkers were so very much alike - and how they differed.

9pm - Dr Yan Wong – Evolutionary Biologist, co-author of 'the Ancestor's Tale' and broadcaster for TV’s ‘Bang goes the Theory’.

The Ancestor's Tale' was published 10 years ago and since then science has moved rapidly on, especially in the area of genetics and genomics. A new updated edition of The Ancestor’s Tale is currently in process, and as part of his talk Jan will be speaking about specific areas in which major new discoveries have been made. He will also demonstrate OneZoom, a piece of software he developed to heighten awareness about the diversity of life on earth.
