CLHG Thames Walk - Hammersmith to Richmond

This will be a 3-4 hour walk with an hour added for lunch. We'll head straight down to and over the impressive Hammersmith Bridge where we'll head up the Thames. The river is attractive all the way along although in some places the banks are quite built up in the first half of the walk. There may be quite a bit of gull life on the riverine mud as we should be enjoying low tide. After a suitable lunch time rest we'll be suitably refreshed for the beautiful 2nd leg, with Kew Park and Gardens on one side and Syon Park on the other, before arriving at Richmond's attractive waterfront. The walk will finish at Richmond tube station. Let's hope for sunshine!

As usual I'll do a collection for the group (£2 suggested) along the way.

Fantastic day out, Dave managed to arrange great weather yet again, and a lovely route, only problem just couldn't chat to everyone, just too many lovely people. Great too that we merged with some of the other local groups. When's the next one Dave?

Thanks to everyone who attended. It's the diversity of great people that really makes the walks. It was especially good to meet up with South-west, West and North London group members too - here's hoping that we meet more often.

Same as Mike, had to change my rsvp because of illness, shame as I was looking forward to it.

Sorry you couldn't make it Kieron. You would have hated the lazing around at the end eating ice cream in the sunshine. Hope you're well now. You too Mike.

Update - the plan for the walk is to do it all on the south bank now. I estimate the walk to be about 7 miles long. After about 2 miles we'll stop off at The Ship PH in Mortlake, so the major part of the walk will be after lunch/refreshments (don't drink too much). For people who don't want to do the whole walk, there is the option of making for Kew Station instead.
