6.- I applaud, however, Stephen Law's point - which I would also have made - that what is important is not so much a belief in a 'god', as the uncritical acceptance of any creed or ideology, spiritual or temporal. I would have referred to Giovanni Gentile's concept of 'political religion'. 7.- Finally, I would have mentioned that one can have religions or, more generally, ideologies without a concept of 'god', but none without the concept of 'devil', or 'evil'!
