I enjoyed the talk very much yesterday. I would have liked to have made the point to Eugenie Scott that Darwin shared his birthday - 12 February 1809 - with former US President Abraham Lincoln and that - as humanists - we also hold his support of the concept of freedom for all and the active promotion of democracy as a fundamental value of humanism, which - I assume - many of the creationists would not be so eager to advocate. I was unable to make my point as I suspect a number of closet creationist supporters were in the audience and were determined to make their points to all there. It was also my birthday yesterday so I find myself in illustrious company!!! Thank you for another excellent Darwin Day Lecture. May they continue for many many many years.
