2013 Carlisle Import and Kit Nationals

The 2013 Carlisle Import and Kit Nationals show this year is being held Friday May 17th through Sunday May 19th.

I have been to this show several years now and the number of Minis that show up has increased greatly.

While the show is Friday through Sunday, most people go on the Saturday as that is when there is a larger turnout. Everyone usually hangs out and parks in one section with the Carlisle Mini Group (ask Rab M or John D for more details or maybe they can post more info here).

I do not plan to set up a drive to Carlisle unless someone would like to take that on.

There are also a lot of vendors and I have found a lot of cool mini (current and classic) stuff there, so bring $$

Here is the link to the official site. As always, if you register early, you get a discount versus paying at the gate.

More details to follow as we get closer.

Also if anyone is interested, I have a new batch of Intercoolers coming in today and I will be offering special C3M/Carlisle Minis owners group pricing for these high-quality units, at the CM/C3M vendors booth. I plan to bring my entire inventory along and can do credit-card transactions via Droid on-site if anyone is ready to purchase. These perform well and are a lot more cost effective than the Forge or Alta units. see www.ironhorsecoopersports.com for more info and performance results.

      How difficult is installation?

      May 7, 2013

    • Ryan Dinshah

Hi Sam, quite simple really. Getting the nose off is the hardest part, some of the 2 part plastic rivets are a royal pain and usually break. The intercooler comes with detailed instructions on R&R and all hardware required for mounting. Now, the 2007 to '10 cars have the style 1 bumpers, the cooler is a direct R&R for them, with only minor trimming on the lower grille tabs required. The 11+ have the style 2 bumper and require notching the bumper beam in 2 locations to clear the I/C end tanks. Nothing is visible from outside. These use the stock mount tabs and charge pipes, although they work fine /w others, I have an NM Eng hot side tube, installed last year using the stock tubes then switched later. If you have moderate mech skills you can do this install. Its pretty simple and the biggest bang for the buck hands down. If you would like to read the instructions or see performance results before making a decision, www.ironhorsecoopersports.com and follow the link to the .pdf download.

Hope to have my MINI back from the shop in time, really stinks but you can't control the miniscule thoughts of a deer (hit 1 Sunday nite). If not, Ill be there anyway just to show up and support, and I'll bring a couple intercoolers along for show n tell.

If anyone has MINI parts or any car parts you would like to sell CARLISLE MINI has two vendor spots also. This vendor spot is registered under a CM member's tax ID number. Yes, since this is a swap meet our state requires all vendors to collect and pay sales tax on each item sold. So, if anyone decides to bring MINI or car parts to be sold they need to be labeled with your name, club name and a high and low price wanted for the item. At the completion of the show sales tax will be collected from each person that sold any items. PA's sales tax is 6%.

Since Friday's are generally a busy day at these meets I will be setting up in CM's vendor spots with all collected items. We will also be setup in the vendor spots Saturday. CM's vendor spots are IA68 and IA69. If anyone has any questions please let john171 or me (Buddy) know.

I plan on being there between 0630 and 0700 hrs

Since the vendor spots CM has are for club use, we are restricted from having commercial vendors sell from there. Also while you can sell non car related items 80% or more of an individuals items must be car related. Sorry but those are the rules as outlined by Carlisle Events.

As of right now CM has 10 members signed up, and all 3 of them are also signed up here, so we really have 24 all together. If you're trying to decide whether or not to come to Carlisle for this event, stop procrastinating and get your field pass before the early deadline!

EVENT REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS MONDAY, APRIL 15, 2013
Early registration not only saves you a few bucks, but you get a windscreen sticker in the mail that allows you to just drive in to the field....If you want to park on the Show-field you must be sure to register for that. This year we are getting a free 20x20 tent courtesy of Carlisle Events because we had 25 cars last year, those 25 were a combination of Carlisle MINI and C3M!!

IF WE GET 25 REGISTRATIONS BY THEN WE ARE ELIGLE FOR A FREE TENT NEXT YEAR!

THIS NUMBER WILL ALSO GOVERN HOW MANY SPACES WE WILL HAVE AVAILABLE THIS YEAR!! Register your car here, and remember to note "Carlisle MINI Cooper Club" as your club affiliation...
