5th Annual C3M Quiet Waters Park Potluck Picnic

Please join me in the 5th Annual C3M Potluck Picnic at Quiet Waters Park. Here's a link for the park:
http://www.aacounty.o...
Quiet Waters Park has a lot to offer, so please visit their site for details, information, and rules. Leashed dogs are allowed.

We have reserved the  WHITE OAK pavilion again for this year. The Pavilion has 14 standard size picnic tables, 2 large grills, 2 sets of large trash cans and recycle bins, and a place to dispose the charcoal (assuming they haven't made any changes from last year). For those bringing kids, there is a large playground across the street from the pavilion in addition to a small playground a few steps right next to the Pavilion. Bathrooms are also a short walking distance via the bike/walking path or the main access road.

The cost per person will be based on the number of attendees (to cover the cost of the pavilion $180). Please plan to pay, in cash, when you arrive at the park site.

There is also a minimal parking fee of $6.00 per car to be paid at the park entrance gate. They do have senior citizens and military discounts in addition to season passes.

The address to the park is:
600 Quiet Waters Park Road
Annapolis, MD 21403

See below for the specific location we will be at.

Large Playground across the street.

Tasks, Food, and Materials:

Please See Below for sign-up sheet.:

Here are some other suggestions on other things to bring:

- 2 Way Radios (Channel 7, Subchannel 21).
- Cameras
- Bug spray/ Sunscreen
- Coolers
- Water Spray bottles (The pavilion/area is in very shaded area of trees. The majority of the large playground is NOT shaded....It was pretty hot last year)

NOTE: Because we will have a pavilion, this will be a rain or shine event.

SIGN UP SHEET:

Although, you may bring anything you want, below is a list of items that we would minimally like to have. If you want to bring other items, please do so as well. So that we don't end up with a lot of leftovers, please plan to bring/prepare for about 10-15 people unless it states otherwise. You will also note that multiple people can bring the same item to help spread the load/cost. Also, feel free to sign up for as many things as you want.
As a reminder, Quiet Waters does NOT allow alcoholic beverages.

Any questions, please post below or send a message. Whatever you decide to bring, please specify.

As people begin signing up for items, we will keep the main list up to date.

Thanks and looking forward to all the good food.

How to Find Us:

For those who weren't at last year's picnic, here is where we will be located. When you enter the Quiet Waters Park property, you'll follow a one way road. Look for the large playground on the left. The Pavilion (White Oak) and Parking for it are immediately after the playground on the right.

Red = Parking and Pavilion

Blue = Large playground

September 13th would be perfect! I am going home (Honolulu, Hawaii) in August, returning Sept 6th. It will be awesome to join the MINI owners for their Annual Picnic. If a consensus is needed, include my vote for Sept 13th.

    August 4

    • Leo M.

Well have fun at home Rita!

    Bacon Explosion? Yay!!!!

    1 · August 4

  • Lawry

I vote yes and also vote for it to be held 8/30, 8/31, 9/13 or 9/14 (busy summer!).

Oh, and bring back the Bacon Explosion. Yum!!!

We had a wonderful time and hope to make it to another event soon. Everyone was friendly and it was fun to see how everyone outfitted their Minis
Thanks to the setup and cleanup crews and cooks.

Great! The Bacon Explosion was superb! MANY thanks to the cooks, without whom I'd have starved (because no way am I standing in the sun next to a heat source in July!). :-)

I'm going to be late. probably around 1ish.

    July 20, 2013

  • Alicyn D.

There's a chance I won't make it. My neck has been in a spasm for almost two weeks. If Mark won't drive then I probably won't come. I can barely look to the left making driving very difficult.

    July 19, 2013

    • Heather

That sucks. Hope it gets worked out!

      July 20, 2013

    • Alicyn D.

    July 20, 2013

  • Will S

Do you want my bottled water IN the cooler of ice *before* I get there? I've got it in the fridge right now so they wont be hot when I get there. Lemme know.

    July 20, 2013

  • Tom L.

THIS IS A RAIN OR SHINE EVENT! We have rented a pavilion so please bring some cash to help with the cost. Thanks

    July 20, 2013

  • Ray H.

I am the new guy. I signed up to help with set up. Looking at the comments I can't tell if we need ice and a cooler but I can bring both if it will help

    July 19, 2013

    • Lawry

Welcome Ray, looking forward to meeting you. According to the forecast, it's going to be at least 85* on Sunday. There are three of us (that I know of) bringing coolers but more coolers/ice will not go to waste in that kind of heat. After all, once you add the ice, individual coolers won't hold many drinks. I also have an insulated tub I'll bring along in case someone supplies extra ice.

      July 19, 2013

    • Celia

Ray, you should definitely bring ice, I'm going to bring my jumbo cooler

      July 19, 2013

  • Lawry

I've got a cooler if someone can bring ice.

    July 19, 2013

    • Lawry

Great! and I'm going to freeze half of my bottled water. They'll stay cold much longer that way but the heat should defrost them enough to drink in a couple of hours.

      July 19, 2013

    • Kevin H.

I'll have another cooler as long as I get it to fit

      July 19, 2013

  • robottgirl

    sweet mother. you need to take my admin access away. almost deleted the whole bloody thing. so. anyways, I can bring an appetizer, aluminum trays, and a side {might use y'all to test out a sweet potato recipe}

    1 · July 12, 2013

  • Steve-LUXOR

As it stands, I'll be bringing the usual deviled eggs topped with bacon and old bay (apparently). I'll make sure I park in the corner :-)

    July 19, 2013

  • Matt & B.

Sorry for the last minute notice but we're going to have to back out. Something came up at the last minute. Hopefully no one will miss the veggie burgers!

    July 18, 2013

  • Obsessive

    I will bring some bacon

    3 · July 18, 2013

  • Kevin H.

I try and bring a cooler if I can one that fits in the back

    July 17, 2013

  • Rita

I will bring some added sweets from Sweeta Rita (cupcakes for the kids and us big kids). AND, I will bring some chicken kabobs for the grill. I am looking forward to being with my MINI ohana (Hawaiian for family).

    1 · July 17, 2013

  • James

I will have the grills sizzling away people, help me help you by having plenty of hot burgers, brats, dogs, and chicken for the masses to kick back and chew the fat.

    1 · July 17, 2013

  • Catia

I'll bring some drinks, hotdogs, and hotdog buns

    July 17, 2013

  • Donna Rae J.

I can bring condiments and fixin's.

    July 16, 2013

  • Tom L.

What's wrong with this picture...we have 35 people signed up but only 20 people bringing something or doing something. Come on folks, this is your club.

    1 · July 16, 2013

  • Celia

The list has been updated, still need someone to bring condiments & fixins other wise theres gonna be some very plain brats & burgers

    July 16, 2013

    • Heather

Celia - I picked up Coke & Diet

      July 16, 2013

  • Deb P.

    I'll bring a salad.

    July 16, 2013

  • Leonardo

I wish I could make it but I am installing a new roof on my house this weekend.

    July 16, 2013

  • John

Ok, sorry for the back and forth. I will not be able to make it. I will be preparing for my deployment to Afghanistan and I need to fit a trip to Illinois to drop my car off again in there somewhere. :(

    July 15, 2013

    • Heather

Good luck with deployment! Maybe you can add a third Mini when you get back :) Would totally offer up more local garage space if I had any...

      1 · July 15, 2013

    • James

Crap buddy, if this woulda worked out better I coulda drove your car back for you and done Mini's on the Mac driving down through Wisconsin to Illinois and caught a flight out of o'hare back to dulles

      July 16, 2013

  • Robert C.

We will bring a dozen burgers and buns also.

    July 15, 2013

  • Alicyn D.

Put me in for a side dish, I'll make a quinoa salad

    July 15, 2013

  • Celia

I think the list is up to date now ill try and update it everyday. If anyone is looking for ideas for things to bring we could use hamburgers & buns, condiments, Fixins, any kind of side dish or drinks (other than water)

    July 15, 2013

  • PAMELA J L.

sorry something came up not able to go

    July 15, 2013

  • Kevin H.

It doesn't seem like the need list has been updated

    July 14, 2013

  • Jason

Sorry I'm going to miss this one. Have a great time everyone!

    July 13, 2013

  • Matt & B.

We will bring the veggie burgers since Claudia can't make it.

    July 12, 2013

  • Heather

I think once you've got (1) people and (2) grilled meat in various shapes, you've got a party.

    July 12, 2013

  • Tom L.

Would anyone like to volunteer to put together some games to keep this unruly crowd occupied? (pleeease!)

    May 14, 2013

    • Steve-LUXOR

Did you want to do a raffle?

      July 12, 2013

    • robottgirl

I have a handful of mini related raffle items.

      July 12, 2013

  • John

I'll bring hot dogs and buns. :)

    July 12, 2013

  • Lawry

In checking the list above, it appears Claudia was going to help with setup, provide table cloths and veggie burgers.

I had already signed up for bottled water and snack chips. I can help with setup but someone else will need to bring the table cloths and possibly veggie burgers.

I hate to sound cheap but I'm unemployed and can't afford the extra expense right now.

    July 12, 2013

    • Celia

I just fixed it, ill get the table cloths

      July 12, 2013

    • Matt L.

It is not up to date. I signed up for bratwurst, buns, and disposable trays. I think there are others too.

      July 12, 2013

  • Matt L.

<<<Will bring Bratwurst and buns as well as aluminum trays. Are we doing Bocce Ball this year?

    July 12, 2013

  • Claudia

Can't make it after all. Sold my house faster than expected and my weekends are reserved to pack and move all the way into August now. Have fun everybody!!!

    July 11, 2013

    • Steve-LUXOR

      Doh :-(

      July 12, 2013

    • Claudia

Heading back to MD (Frederick or Hagerstown). The property I had (3 acres) was too much for me to handle by myself and since all my friends are in MD it's time to go back.
