Is it ok rhat my car is a tad bit dirty? I haven't had the chance to wash it.

    September 20, 2013

    • Will S

I figure the rain I hit on the way back and all tonight will take care of the surface dust and bugs. But I'm sure I'll have to dig a few out of the grill in the morning :-))

Another photo-op is in Chincoteague, the Assateague Island Lighthouse. There is a pretty big parking lot on East Side Road at the dock near Snug Harbor where we could get a photo from across the water without having to go into the Federal Park. With binoculars you may even be able to catch a view of the wild ponies from there. Only if we have time.... :)

Hi, I thought I posted this, but don't see it, apologies if this question is repeated -- will you be posting a route map by Friday so I can print and bring along? Also, I assume when we meet at 9:00 am we will eat and THEN depart -- or do we need to be there earlier to eat breakfast and be ready to leave by 9:00. Thanks! Look forward to it!

    September 16, 2013

    • Kimberly

We will print the route sheets and hand them out during the drivers meeting.

Wait.... Back up.... "Radios are recommended for communications." For us newbies, any recommendations on what types of radios work best?

    September 17, 2013

    • Will S

What he's saying is it has to have the functionality of sub-channels, not just sub-21. You'd need a different sub at a different event, e.g., MOTD.

      Roger that.

      1 · September 18, 2013

  • Mark S.

Driver's meeting is at 9 and we'll depart shortly afterwards. So if you plan to have breakfast and coffee show earlier. Radios are recommended for communications.

    September 16, 2013

    • Mark S.

Will if your short for time we understand and will see you on the next run. Eating at the meal stops is optional. We just planned it as a place to get a bite (if anyone wants too) and place to meet with a large enough parking lot for us.

      September 17, 2013

    • Will S

Eh?!? Next time? Am I being a pest? :-) I need to eat. It's a fair ride out and back. I'll hit Sbux on the way out as the one in College Park is open 24-7 on weekends, but I need to fuel *me* up when I get there and before I head home. I just need to be back by 5:30P. I should be all good leaving after lunch.

Here is a good pair. I have had similar ones for the last 5 years. One added feature is that it has NOAA weather reception and alerts which comes in handy when the power is out due to extreme weather. There are probably cheaper models but make sure the ones you buy have sub-channels or "privacy codes" as well as the normal 22 channels. Don't pay any attention to the range. These are line of sight radios so when we are in the mountains or on some twisty roads, reception is sporadic.

Thrashers, MD tradition for any visitor to the shore. Best fries you will ever eat as long as you stick to the basics....salt and lots of vinegar

I hope to finish the entire run this year!
