Five-Year Anniversary MidSummer Picnic and Ritual

It's our Five-year anniversary! Come celebrate with us!”

Please join us on June 14th for our 5th Anniversary Solstice Celebration !!
We are the Central Maryland Pagans and we will be celebrating our 5th Anniversary and the Summer Solstice with a Potluck Picnic in the Park !!

We have reserved a beautiful spot in Patapsco State Park, Orange Grove area so come out and help us celebrate !! We will be enjoying the great outdoors with our friends and our community !!

This event is FREE! We ask that you bring something to share at the picnic and a non-perishable food item for the Maryland Food bank.  Outdoor games and toys are also encouraged.

Please note that there is a $3 fee for attending this park!  There are beautiful trails for hiking and if anyone has a canoe, we have the permit to take it out onto the lake!

5120 South Street , Arbutus , MD (Orange Grove Area)

We will be at pavilion 106

Workshops

Energy Healing for the Self - Tips and suggestions for using energy withing and without to heal the most important person, your self.

Kitchen Witchery - Join the discussion and learn about bringing magick into the everyday center of your home.

Spell Crafting -  Learn and share tips and tricks for crafting effective simple spells in this discussion based workshop.

Intentional Art Crafting - Bring the beauty of hand-crafted decor into your home with a special magical kick

Ritual

Maria will be facilitating a SUN mid-summer ritual:
Come join us as we celebrate and honor the power of the sun on the longest day of the year. Feel free to bring a small stone or other small item you wish to imbue with the energy of the sun.  We will be using firey ribbons (red, yellow, orange) instead of sparklers.

Shared Mid-Summer Altar

Just as last year, CMP will have an altar set up in the pavilion and everyone is welcome to bring something to add to the altar or lay on the altar to be blessed by the sun and positive vibes.

Instead of a silent auction we will be hosting a Pagan Yard Sale. A percentage of the proceeds will go right back into CMP (please contact the organizers if you believe you have something to sell).

Here is the Schedule for Saturday!
10:00am - Shenanigans begin
10:30am - Self Energy Healing Workshop with Heather
11:15am - Kitchen Witchery Workshop with Cece
12:00pm - Food starts

It was good to meet you and your girls. They were very well behaved as were all of the children there. It was delightful seeing them all.

Another idea- does the park allow tents to be erected for day use? If so, and if there is interest, I can set mine up to provide a private and rainproof 10x10 space for the day for.. small group chat, one on ones, private ritual, privacy if pagans want to be skyclad.. whatever you need it for.. :-) Pls like/reply so I know to make room for the tent and accessories and Kat lmk the legality.

Interesting thought but not appropriate for the venue or the event. I was good to have you there yesterday :)

Thanks. As you saw I contributed with displaying tapestry hangings to add ambiance to the pavilion. Overall a really great time for what we had despite the public place. I will note that there is a nice sandy open space on the riverbank directly down from the pavilion that afforded great visual privacy if the group needed that for a pagan talk/formal ritual more.. publicly questionable.

Thanks so much to everyone for making our Fifth Year Picnic truly special! Larry, thanks for being grill master, Cerridwen thanks for your kitchen witchery, Maria, the ritual was lovely, Kate thanks for being a master crafts woman. A special thank you to Greg of The Cleansing Breath (link in the comments) for coming in on short notice and talking to us about Energy Healing. A huge thank you to all the parents for co-child herding and the non-parents for being wonderful and supportive of our growing community. I'm amazed and grateful for these last five years and looking forward to many more.

As always fun, fun and fun. :-) thanks to the hosts for a great day. loved the location and the very close proximity to the river (finally got some river water). The kiddies were so great and i loved seeing and being around all the families...great energy just in that. See you all on Thursday! :-) p.s. sorry i left bfore clean up but my sinuses were not corrupting and my asthma was taking an offense to them. shout out to the workshop facilitators, learned some great stuff from greg and cece that i can incorporate in my current lessons. :-)

This was the first time I've been to a CMP Ritual! Everyone was lovely, fun and the "family" feel was great! I made many friends and finally met my FB & Meet up friends! I loved the Solstice Ritual and the best was the children's involvement! I will be an active member ! I've had a rough 4 yrs and I finally found a great group of friends! Thank you all and Blessed Be!

Also, I managed to leave my blue and white cooler there due to the distraction on witnessing the full river immersion of my phone. I'm hoping someone grabbed it, will arrange to pick up or meet at next event. Will also owe beer or food/beverage of choice.

I have your cooler. The next meetup is at my house on Thursday. If you can't make it, I will keep it safe until we can arrange another time.

Because the park is crowded they are controlling access to the Orange Grove area. There is PLENTY of parking for us. Tell the ranger you are going to the picnic at the pavilion and they will let you through!

Activity ideas- I'd love to share in energy work, massage/therapeutic touch, nature walks/wild edibles, talking shop about green living, survival, off grid electric (can showcase my battery rig in my car, and even offer phone recharging services to attendees).

Activity possibility- I'm bringing my huge Magic card collection (cards from[masked]) for play and sale. From the last meetup I learned there are several players in the group so I'd be happy to get them out to enjoy! I do have plenty of decks made and multiplayer sets for those who want to play.

ok I wasn't sure what to get, so I picked up 12 orange soda cans, 12 Ginger ale cans and a 12 pack Deer Park mini water bottles. It's a good start to the drinks I think. Can I help out with something else?
And of course the girls will be joining, Would bringing our little doggies (3 chihuahuas) be ok?

    2 · June 11, 2014

    • Cece A.

I'm not sure if you can bring that many furbabies, Mary. I know Maria had brought her doggie before. I think if they're on a leash they will be ok. Check the park's rules & regs to be sure.

      June 12, 2014

    • Cece A.

Lol Hesperos. I don't bring them to any outside gatherings, too many strange faces for them. They're good doggies, wherever I go, they're behind me like shadows, no worries they will be home.
