Hi there! My name is Gina. I'm a wife, daughter, sister, friend, a REAL and traditional FOODIE (health nut you could say) & an extremely passionate Health Coach. I reclaimed my health & I truly believe we all can - we just need the right tools!
I decided to form this group in order to build a community in my local area, focusing on REAL food and traditional food-ways. I also see the need for people to relate to others who are on this journey. Taking back our health is a team effort and we all need a support system! Let's be there for each other! I want to connect my community and encourage my community to both think and look outside the box so we can break the mold and reclaim our health. We need to go back to traditional food as the primary base for optimal health!
I personally grew up with the Standard American Diet (SAD). As a young adult, I THOUGHT I was eating "healthfully". I also thought I was doing the right things to "maintain" my digestive disease. I soon discovered that I had it all wrong! When I really dug deep into the mainstream health & food advice, I realized that most of the information was misleading and flat-out incorrect. It contributed to my continued suffering and so I then decided to wake up and put matters into my own hands. I began my journey to reclaim my health, focusing on REAL, traditional foods. This meant challenging everything I thought I knew about "healthy food". I gradually transitioned to a truly healthful, healing and nutrient-dense diet and a more pure lifestyle. That put me in the position to reclaim my health and heal.
My biggest struggles used to be lack on knowledge. Again, I THOUGHT I had it all right, just like so many out there do. I once was blind to the truth. I was following mainstream healthy food rules: eating lots of grains, staying away from saturated fats, etc. However, now I can honestly say that since I have experienced successful healing from digestive disease, my struggles are decreasing by the day. I realize though (from my friends and clients) that there are many struggles out there. I know most of them can be conquered! We just need the right tools!
Enjoyed brainstorming and connecting in the first meet-up. Look forward to the future!
Hi, Gina. Hoping to see you at next Thursday's first IIN meeting. Is it a possibility?
Thanks Gina, I'm looking forward to the farm tour this weekend. I haven't eaten beef, poultry, pork, or lamb for over a year...I still eat fish. I'm honestly a bit bored with the lack of variety, but I can't stomach eating store-bought meets from unknown sources who may have questionable practices. I'm curious about what I'll learn on Saturday.
Thanks Gina. Really good to find more like minded people. will be a pleasure to meet you one day too.
Thank you and I'm looking forward it!
Good to "meet" you. I hear great things about your work from my friend Monica, and I read some of your website. It sounds like you are a wonderful resource in Howard County. I love to cook, and have been interested in whole foods and healthy cooking forever, which has held me in good stead with the celiac diagnosis I got last year. I'll try to get to one of your classes.
Hope to see you next time. I will be at the Take Back Your Health Conference both Saturday and Sunday. Pauline
Thanks!! I'm really excited to meet you and learn more about GMOs :)
Hi Fellow IINer! You already get what we are all about! We would love to meet you.
Hi Gina, thank you for the warm greeting, I'm looking forward to attending the meetups!
