What prompted you to join this group?

I decided to form this group in order to build a community in my local area, focusing on REAL food, ancestral and traditional food-ways. I also see the need for people to relate to others who are on this journey. Taking back our health is a team effort and we all need a support system! Let's be there for each other! I want to connect my community and encourage my community to both think and look outside the box so we can break the mold and reclaim our health. We need to go back to ancestral food as the primary base for optimal health!

Please share a little about yourself and your health goals and your health journey.

I personally grew up with the Standard American Diet (SAD). As a young adult, I THOUGHT I was eating "healthfully". I also thought I was doing the right things to "maintain" my digestive disease. I soon discovered that I had it all wrong! When I really dug deep into the mainstream health & food advice, I realized that most of the information was misleading and flat-out incorrect. It contributed to my continued suffering and so I then decided to wake up and put matters into my own hands. I began my journey to reclaim my health, focusing on REAL, traditional foods. This meant challenging everything I thought I knew about "healthy food". I gradually transitioned to a truly healthful, healing and nutrient-dense diet and a more pure lifestyle. That put me in the position to reclaim my health and heal.

What would you consider to be the biggest struggle in achieving your goals?

My biggest struggles used to be lack on knowledge. Again, I THOUGHT I had it all right, just like so many out there do. I once was blind to the truth. I was following mainstream healthy food rules: eating lots of grains, staying away from saturated fats, etc. However, now I can honestly say that since I have experienced successful healing from digestive disease, my struggles are decreasing by the day. I realize though (from my friends and clients) that there are many struggles out there. I know most of them can be conquered! We just need the right tools!
