Baltimore Reads Book Bank

The Baltimore Reads Book Bank has provided more than 1,000,000 new and gently used children's books to disadvantaged families in Baltimore since 1992. Their goal is to spark family reading at home by making sure there are plenty of books available.

Volunteers are needed to help organize books at the Book Bank. On days when the weather is favorable, volunteer organizers at the Book Bank often arrange for volunteers to work outdoors!

The Book Bank is located at the back of The Baltimore Sun warehouse complex. The Book Bank can be difficult to find, so be sure to follow the directions at www.baltimorereads.org/directions-and-hours.html.

This event has been very popular with volunteers who work with children. An extra benefit of sorting books for the Baltimore Reads Book Bank is the nostalgia trip you'll experience when you see books that you just might remember from your childhood...!

For those who are interested, we may go to lunch at a nearby restaurant after this event.

One of the volunteers that'll be at this event suggested that we might want to go to the Seton Hill French Fair after our volunteer session.

    It features entertainment and
French-themed food and drink from various vendors including Sofi’s Crepes, Ma Petite Shoe, Feast @4 East, and Waterstone Bar.
