Volunteer to advocate for energy efficiency

  • Needs a date

  • Needs a location

  • Retrofit Baltimore is a project of the local non-profit Civic Works which works to educate homeowners on the benefits of home energy efficiency upgrades to lower their utility costs while making their homes more comfortable, safer, and environmentally friendly. At the same time, we run a training program where we provide comprehensive training and certification in home retrofit work to Baltimore residents who would otherwise be locked out of the workforce. We then connect our graduates with jobs that provide family sustaining wages, thereby creating a pathway out of poverty while strengthening Baltimore's economy and making the city a cleaner, safer, and healthier place to live. In order to complete our mission we do a lot of direct outreach to homeowners, including canvassing, clipboarding at local farmers markets, and by hosting energy meetings where we talk about the work that we do. If you are interested in environmental sustainability and workforce development then we would love your help in furthering our mission! You can email me at [masked] to learn more about volunteer opportunities.

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
