I just wanted to say thank you to those of you who have signed up to serve breakfast at My Sisters Place in Baltimore. Since that event is almost full, I wanted to make sure you saw that we are also serving dinner on Saturday, January 23 and we need people to sign up there, and we are serving lunch on February 14 - Valentines Day, we also need people to sign up for that event.Central Maryland Volunteers
There is also a chance for you to get your certification in CPR/AED/First Aid on January 30. If you need to re-up, or have been putting it off because of time, please take this class. These are great skills to have as a volunteer, because you can use them to give back to others. Also, many companies have safety teams and having this certification is needed. Its a great class and will be taught by the Red Cross, so there are no worries about the validity of your certification.
It is an all day class on Saturday from 9am - 5:30 pm with breaks for lunch and refreshments. I know that giving up a Saturday is hard, however, it'll be well worth it. The Red Cross has set this class up just for Central Maryland Volunteers, so it'll just be our group there. We also will have at least 2 instructors there to teach us.
Look out for more events to be posted soon. I am working with Habitat for Humanity to get a date for us to come in and help sometime in January or February. If there is a lot of interest in helping at My Sister's Place, I'll add more opportunities on the calendar.
If you have a group volunteer activity that you'd like for me to post, please email me via the Group meetup page or post your ideas on the calender at the very top.
Thanks for joining, I hope to see you all soon!Central Maryland Volunteers
