Event: Sprucing Up Day
Where: Fire Museum of Lutherville, MD
Hours 9:30 am - 3 pm
When: March 10th 2012
Here's a hook-n-ladder happening that's bound to shine! The Fire Museum of Maryland, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, will be hosting a spit-n-polish day on Saturday, March 10th between 9:30 am and 3 pm on York road in Lutherville, Maryland. They hope that you and other volunteers will be joining them for another one of their ‘go at it' polishing and waxing sessions! If you can only make a half-day, they would still like to have your help. AND, if you can bring a home-made dessert please let them know... they'll be providing a deli tray for the rest of lunch.
This year, the polishing of some major and minor pieces (three-year cycle), case glass cleaning, and house cleaning the furniture is on the menu. Painting the Special Exhibits Room (rollers and cut-in) will involve moving a lot of frames and models which will be done in advance.
They'd like to put 2-3 more people on varnishing the last Seagrave fire engine ladder.
There are no outside projects this year and no big projects where we can use a team of kids. Last year was fabulous in that Mr Wooden’s team cleaned up the eastern side of our parking lot.
This is a good event to which to bring a friend. There is a lot of intense cleaning and polishing that day so young children, say under 13, don’t work too well. Please let them know if you will be coming to help.
