The Maryland Film Festival is in need of volunteers. Volunteers receive screening passes to see one film per shift (4 hrs) worked (certain exceptions apply). These passes can also be redeemed for $5 toward MFF merchandise.

Survey team members are needed to talk to Film Festival attendees to collect valuable demographic information.


We need volunteers on Friday May 7, Saturday May 8, and Sunday May 9. The shift times are 10:30, 2pm, and 6pm.

PARKING
Any street parking around the Charles
If you are scheduled at University of Baltimore or MICA you can visit their websites for more information on parking

Maryland Avenue – between Lanvale Street and Oliver Street – one block from the Charles - free all-day parking

Theater Parking Garage (80 spaces) – Across from the Charles theater - $5 all-day
Central Parking Lot (180 spaces) – Around the corner from the Charles – south side of Lanvale Street between St. Paul and Charles Streets

Theater Parking (60 spaces) – 3 Lots – around the corner from the Charles theater – north side of Lanvale Street between St. Paul and Charles Street. Volunteers pay posted rate.

Landmark Parking – Penn Station garage (550 spaces) – one block from the Charles - $8 all-day parking



ATTIRE
Wear comfortable clothing. You will receive your festival t-shirt when you arrive for your first shift. Avoid bringing lots of “stuff” with you if at all possible. We don’t want anything to get lost or stolen.



FOOD/WATER We will provide bottled water, drinks & light snacks. We have a few food sponsors this year, so we are limited in what we can provide. Please understand that you may want to bring a lunch with you.

There is a Sofie’s Crepes next to the Charles, which sells great food to go ($6-$9) and a Subway about 4 blocks north on Charles ($5-$8).

Golden West is providing free food for scheduled Volunteers on Friday around 12-2:30pm and discounts for volunteers the rest of the week, in the Tent Village.

Other food sponsors include Soup's On, Red Emma's, Whole Foods and Zeke's Coffee. Show your support of these local businesses throughout the year.


ARRIVING FOR SHIFTS
Unless you are scheduled for a shift at University of Baltimore or MICA (in which case you will be told in advance) you will be checking in at the Volunteer Tent in the Tent Village, in the parking lot across the street from the Charles.

You should plan on being at check-in at least fifteen minutes prior to the start of your shift. You can pick up your t-shirt, grab a beverage, and get your bearings. We have scheduled overlapping shifts provide better training. This means some shifts may get out earlier than scheduled, especially the last shifts of the day.
