Ride through Rutland State Park, Rutland, MA.

I'm told this is a nice place for bicycling so I'll be checking it out over the next few days and let you know. Ideally, I'd like to find at least a 15 mile route for us.

The same trail going from the park to Glenwood Rd is also good. More conducive to a road bike like the W. Boylston section. Two tunnels, a section cut through the rock, scenic ponds and well shaded. An easy evening ride.

    Let's do the Blackstone trail again. I'm free Aug 10, 11, 17 and 21.
:) I want to take my road bike but will ride my MT bike if everyone else is.

Enough trail terrain variety (gravel, dirt, sand, pavement) and hills to satisfy mid-level mountain bikers.

It was a great ride. I should be in bed but I feel somewhat invigorated.

Does anyone have an extra bike they could bring for Steve?

Hmmm, Steve's reply should be interesting.

It has whitish cobwebs and flat tires.

This was an enjoyable ride. We went down the trail and across Rt.122. We then went up a dirt road to the Barre Dam and then went down dirt roads back to the park. We did about 12.5 miles. It was a good workout!

Sorry folks I can't make it! I was really looking forward to it, I like the trail and its real convenient for me as I live in Holden. I will try real hard to make the next event.

This is a nice trail, rides along ponds, through the woods, tunnels under Rt 56. I once encountered a moose along this trail.

We will meet in the parking lot at White Hall Pond at Rutland State Park.
    To get there:
Enter Rutland State Park off of Rt. 122 (Please note: there is also an entrance off of Rt 122A).
Continue going straight. You will see a sign for White Hall Pond on you left. Take your left after the sign. There will be a parking lot further off to the left.

The trail starts a little ways to the left of the parking lot.
I bicycled 6+ miles on the trail and it brought me to Rt 122. I then bicycled back to the park on the road for a total of 11 miles.

There are a few different trails and fire roads off of the main trail that we may choose to explore. Or off to the right on Route 122, there are other trails. Or we can catch a trail off to the left to get back into the park.

All in all, it was a very pleasant ride and it would be easy to spend an entire day bicycling through here.

    See you all Tuesday!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
