Friday Eves on the Mass Central Rail Trail

We ride about 3 miles on the trail, then at that point, we decide to do the following (the choice is based on what riders want to do). You can go around the corner one was and do a little off road, mildly hilly but fun ride for another 2-3 miles and then ride back. You can only ride past the parking lot to the road there and work your way back to the Thomas Street parking lot on this road. The road has extremely light traffic. The last choice would be to turn around and head back the way you came. Either way you decide, it's all very scenic ride but given the time of day and just to be safe, bring bug ointment. We will also be doing this bike ride weekly. It's a great for a quick ride after work or class. See you there!

DIRECTIONS:

From 1-90 coming from Worcester: Take exit 5 off of I-190 and head south on Route 140. At the bridge where Route 140 south continues, turn right onto Thomas Street. The reservoir will be on your left and the Thomas Street parking lot will be on your right.

From Worcester via Route 12:
Take West Boylston Street, from I-90, exit 1, all the way to Central Street, West Boylston. Take a left at Central. Central becomes Crescent St. At a fork in the road, stay Right. That's Thomas Street. Go about a mile. along the Reservior, to just before Route 140, and turn right into Thomas Street parking lot.

I posted a review of Barber's Crossing on Yelp. Also check out my review of Fritz's bicycle shop in the Greendale section of Worcester. Aaron is young guy that bought the biz about a year ago and I've been very pleased with them.

I'm trying to find a bell app for my phone so I don't need to keep clipping stuff on my handlebars!

Fun ride- went to clean off my bike this AM and had a flat tire in the front- it's weird cause it was fine for the ride last night. I must have run over something. The good news is I brought it to Barney's and the fixed it right away AND I had them put a bell on! Now I can be just like you guys! Ring ring:)

Well, I've been getting in shape for a month now. I can do 8 miles with short rolling hills. I'm learning to spin using toe clamps, but its hard. I'm ready to join you. I've done the rail trail that you do, several times after work. I showed up at Rhutland State park once and nobody was there- not sure if you cancelled. I'll be there Friday. ID yourself if you see me in a red toyota corolla with a bike rack. Can't wait to meet you. Looking for new friends. Randi

Will do. You will be surprised how fast you get in condition when you ride a couple of days each week.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
