Nashua River Rail Trail

We'll be parking in a parking lot right on Groton Street. There's additional parking around the area where there are businesses closed. We'll start on the Ayer, end of the trail and ride to the other end in Nashua, NH, then back to our cars. We usually stop at an ice cream stand in Pepperell on the way back, so you may want to bring a little money with you. The round trip is just over 25 miles, altogether, on a mostly flat surface.

Is anyone still able to make tomorrow's ride? If not, I'll ride closer to home in the morning. Thanks ..

Sorry, I have to bail out. I have a sinus problem and can't breathe well enough to bike tomorrow. Maybe next time.

I won't be able to attend this due to a minor emergency but I will leave it open for you all to attend. Its a beautiful ride and the weather should be perfect for it.

Sorry you can't make it; would anyone else going like to get an earlier start? 9 or 10? I'm also looking for people to go with on Sunday for an easy hike up mt. Wachusett in the morning or early afternoon. FYI there's a bird of prey presentation w live birds from 10 to 11 am at the visitors center that would be cool to check out. Let me know.

    Nancy,
Where would I start in Pepperell? I cannot make it the 7th, but for future rides.

The trail goes along 113 in Pepperell. There are park benches and lots of parking right on the street.

I just got back from a bike ride/concert at Tanglewood, and realize I need a bike for roads and rail trails. Any suggestions?

Your Trek can easily be modified to a trail bike or you could buy another one and start collecting them like me and other crazy people.

    Hi Joyce!
You could start in Pepperell and go to Nashua from there. It will be less than 10 miles round trip.

I have to be on call so I cannot go...however, if I was able, could I ride less than the entire 25 miles? Say only 10 miles?

I had a great time Friday. I bought a new back tire since I had sprung a few spokes on our ride. Thank God I didn't get hurt. Sorry I couldn't make it Sunday. Today I drove out to Northhampton to check out their rail trail that's paved. I was disappointed to find some of the trail closed off ( but it's toward the end). I don't have the details, but that is a very nice place to ride. I wonder if the group has ever tried that trail. See you Friday.

I responded that I may bring a friend with me. I will change reply if it will be only me. I will do my best to attend this, my summer has been spent caring for my elderly Dad but that has changed
