I'm not terribly experienced in either but I prefer offroad. I have a hybrid sort of "commuter bike" with a heavy steel frame and tires that are closer to mountain bike tires but not quite. It's marketed as a "curb-hopping city bike". FWIW I just had an awesome off-road ride with another group through a huge Cranberry bog in Wareham. It was all dirt roads with small to medium pebbles and many soft sand spots that made for a real challenge balance-wise. My bike seemed very well suited for that type of ride. I've never done actual mountain biking.
Hiking, snowshoeing, rock climbing (never done it but plan to join the AMC Worcester chapter some Tuesday night at the place near Greendale Mall), frisbee, basketball, baseball...
Prefer trips under 90 minutes but am willing to make exceptions depending on the event.
Hi, I'm Dan!
