  • This location is no longer available

Come and participate in how Dalton's Pasture's organic, grass fed turkeys are processed; we will kill, pluck, inviscerate, cool, and package a small flock for the freezer.

Simple lunch and snacks provided.

Donations welcome and will go to Central NHMeetup.

When: Saturday, Nov 17

Time: 10:00 - 2:00

If you have been to Dalton's Pasture before, you know what an awesome experience this will be! Facilitated by Lauren Chase-Rowell (Pearmaculture Teacher, Landscape Architect) who has farmed here for 25 years using permaculture techniques and philosophy.

This was an amazing experience with great people. After this, I definitely feel like processing birds for meat is not as difficult (nor gruesome) as some would let on.

A very good day. Full participation was encouraged. Excellent hands on approach in a very relaxed atmosphere and a warm inviting environment. Looking forward to another meetup.

Very excited about this. Any suggestions on things to bring or anything to do to prepare for this (assuming dress warm in clothes you don't mind getting all dirtied up, of course)?

I think you have it - "dress warm in clothes you don't mind getting all dirtied up, of course." They have all the equipment necessary... and the turkeys. Enjoy this hands-on educational experience! and likely some yummy soup!

Gobble gobble... looking forward to sharing the knowledge, trying the Whiz Bang plucker that my husband built on birds as large as turkeys, and feeling grateful for Central NH Meetupfor getting the word out and building resilience through skills sharing! Thanks Candice and Ryan!
