Columbus Metropolitan Library (map)
Topic:
Matthew Radcliffe will demonstrate best-practices for Drupal development using PHP. He will give us an introduction to the Drupal API. He will also show us how to use that API to build our own modules. We'll also look at the global $user object, authentication, altering forms, and essential resources to develop for the Drupal framework.
Special Contest!
We are having an invite-a-friend contest. Whoever invites the most people wins the book of their choice from our library.
Food:
You bet! Deli sandwiches, chips, sodas, water & cookies will be provided by Submerged Solutions, our corporate sponsor this month. Thank you Kris!
Parking:
Parking costs $0.50 /hour at the library's garage. Library accepts credit cards. :-) Oh, there is off street parking too which might be free after a certain time.
Room:
The Auditorium on the first floor. It's the first big room on the right when you enter from the parking garage.
After Meeting Fun?:
Since the library kicks us out at 8pm, we might keep the party going at a nearby pub. Any ideas?
Questions?:
Shoot them my way using the email me link.
It would be interesting to work on a module that implements the 'new' paypal api's.
Thanks Nathan, I'll try to look into this for the presentation. Is there any reference to the "new api" on paypal's developer site? Is it the the SOAP or NVP calls?
I'm still trying to put together my notes and presentation slides. I don't want to just put out the slides directly as most of the presentation was audio-based. I may also edit the mp3 that Paul recorded, match the slides to that, and encode it as a video on Vimeo.
However, pretty busy... I'm sorry it's not done yet.

I'll try to provide more of a write-up in a week or so.
