I got some of the names wrong about where to get free textures so here is the up to date list for textures as well as free presets and actions: Everyday Elements, Coffee Shop Blog, Pioneer Woman/Texaschicsblogsandpics.com , Kim Klassen textures.

Thanks Bob for leading our lesson in Elements. Very helpful. Also a special thanks to the two ladies for the yummy cookies and to the others who brought treats. Laurie, Thanks for enlightening us regarding the 3D camera and what possiblities it could add to our picture taking. All and all a GREAT day for us all.

FYI, here's a how-to I threw together a while back for the bit about adding textures to photos: http://lambertpix.com/2012/04/adding-textures-in-photoshop/

Not sure if I can make this meeting, but if anyone is ever interested in portrait retouching with or without Nik ColorEfex, editing with Adobe Bridge and Photoshop, and/or layouts in InDesign, I'm willing to do a demo or workshop.

I am interested only in the meeting, not the costumes part. Pot-luck snacks- YES. I will be coming directly from church, so I might get some eyebrows raised with a costume.

    October 16, 2013

  • Bob from D.

Last year we had a halloween party at the meeting closest to Halloween. How many would be interested in dressing for halloween and spending the last part of the meeting taking pictures of the costumes?
    WHat about a pot-luck snacks?

      October 12, 2013

    • Bob from D.

You can do many more things with full photoshop than Elements. It's just that I can't help you with it. However, you seem plenty smart enough to use anything we discuss in Elements to convert to Photoshop commands.

      October 12, 2013

  • Loyce

I am using the full version of Photoshop. I know I can learn something new. Layers is wonderful.

    October 12, 2013

Am happy to see that we will get some tips on using Elements. See you all Sunday, Oct. 27, 3013.
