COUNT Discussion Meeting: Topic - "How is the Atheist Movement Evolving?"

COUNT focuses on volunteering and outreach. The projects that we take on are those that help the world around us and positively affect the lives and reputations of atheists and other non believers.

Every week we will meet to review those upcoming projects and then spend some time discussing a weekly topic that will help develop and support the local atheist/non-theist community, discuss secular viewpoints, encourage a positive atheist/non-theist culture, and provide opportunities for socializing and friendship.

This week, in connection with Darwin Day, we will be discussing how the atheist community/movement has evolved and how we envision it evolving in the future. How have you evolved in your thinking? Is there anything we can/should do to speed along evolution of non-belief?

If we have time, we’ll open up the floor to other topics. Afterwards, we are would love to spend time hanging out, having a few drinks, and getting to know one another.

Atheist, agnostics, other non-theists, and atheist-friendly people are welcome to join us.

Basic Discussion Meeting Agenda:

6:30 Introductions/Get Settled
7:00 Welcome, Projects Status/Ideas
7:30 Group Discussion Topic – “How is the Atheist Movement Evolving?”
9:00 Social Time

Hope all went well. I missed y'all. Right now I'm hyped up on pseudophed and tylenol. I wish I drank alcohol. :-)

I desperately want to attend but I have a head cold. I am so sorry. The atheist gods must be frowning on me. My head feels like it was run over by a truck. I will see you soon, my friends.

Hey folks. I really enjoy the Thur night COUNT meetings, but I have been asked to work from 2-10 tonight. I don't need the money but I like to work day shifts once in a while, and the location is close to home, so I said yes. I will keep myself posted, I'll miss it.

Tentatively, yes. It depends on a few things.

As Daniel said, tomorrow is Valentine's Day. It's also the night of an OSU basketball game. Roosters would not allow us to make reservations on the night of the OSU basketball game. However, we are still going to have a meeting! It will be first come serve seating so we may not be in our usual spot. We will have signs posted and you should be able to spot our smiling faces. Hope to see you there!
