COUNT focuses on volunteering and outreach. The projects that we take on are those that help the world around us and positively affect the lives and reputations of atheists and other non believers.
Every week we will meet to review those upcoming projects and then spend some time discussing a weekly topic that will help develop and support the local atheist/non-theist community, discuss secular viewpoints, encourage a positive atheist/non-theist culture, and provide opportunities for socializing and friendship.
This week, we will be discussing anger when coming out of belief. When walking away from religion, many new atheists experience anger – whether anger at the people that lead them down the religious path, themselves, or God himself. Was this you? Are you still an “angry atheist”? What makes you angry? How do we get past the anger and work toward something more positive?
If we have time, we’ll open up the floor to other topics. Afterwards, we are would love to spend time hanging out, having a few drinks, and getting to know one another.
Atheist, agnostics, other non-theists, and atheist-friendly people are welcome to join us.
