The Center For Inquiry (Northeast Ohio) will be hosting a Secular Summit on Tuesday, January 28. There will be speakers and a chance to meet with state senators and representatives to let them know that, as their constituents, we're counting on them to uphold the Constitution (specifically the First Amendment, and more specifically the separation of church and state) when they vote on legislation. The $10 registration fee includes lunch at noon.
If you are interested in participating please both RSVP here (just for COUNT to know about our members' participation) and also sign up directly at the CFINO event registration page. Information is also available at https://www.facebook.com/events/376435785824126/.
FYI, organizer Monette Richards will be speaking about the Secular Summit at the Humanist Community of Central Ohio (HCCO) monthly program on January 11th in a talk titled Bringing a Secular Perspective to the General Assembly. HCCO, like COUNT, is a member of the Columbus Coalition of Reason and this meeting is free and open to non-members.
