** Central Oregon Makers Meting Location Change ** JeldWen Britta Street

** MEETING LOCATION CHANGE **

We apologize for such a late change in the venue for our Central Oregon Makers meetup.  From what we understand currently, the landlord for the Glenwood unit has rescinded permission for Fenestrators Inc. to sublet the space to MakerSpace97702.  As of today, the opening of MakerSpace97702 is being postponed until further notice.  Mike Walker has told us that negotiations are ongoing and that we will be briefed on the situation and alternative solutions.  We look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday evening.

SCHEDULE

The meeting was great. The open sharing of projects and the great suggestions for moving forward with finding a start-up space are inspirational!

Thank you to everyone who attended the meeting last night and especially to our hosts, Bill, Mike, Marci and Budd at the JeldWen Innovation Center. We had a great meeting starting with a very inspiring array of show and tell including an Arduino project, a puffer motor, a laser light show device, a gyroscope game controller, photography flash diffusers and a pedal powered boat. We also heard an update on Maker Space 97702 and had an excellent presentation from Mike Aller on How To Make A Maker Space based on what he learned from the class he attended down at Maker Faire. Really a great meeting full of energy and enthusiasm. Keep making and see you at the next meetup!

Even though there has been a set back every meeting seems to mine new enthusiasm for the space to open.

Hi folks. There are a ton of short topics that make for great day of workshops. People can go from one the another.

I've been buried in the world of music but located my curricula for wood/welding, safety tests and other valuable information. Need to drag a file cabinet home from storage. Pulled a new Miller 250 amp Ac/Dc arc welder off Craigslist to loan to Makers. In the process of replacing bandsaw bearings and guides recognized potential for short specific Makers workshops ie: how to adjust and tune your bandsaw, how to make home made splitters for the tablesaw.

Curious about welding equipment, but I'll see everybody at the 6/9 meeting, ask about it then. Lot's of passion within Makers group. Awesome. If I'm slow to respond at times, please forgive. I'm probably working a gig, or at one of two Band practices!

The MakerSpace 97702 kickoff committee will have an update planning meeting at the space on Sunday evening 6/9 from 5 to 7 pm. If you have been assigned a task, please have your team be prepared to give an update status report of your progress. Anyone is invited to attend either of the work parties or the update meeting on Sunday. There is MUCH to do and little time. We will have a list of needed materials and items for the space on Sunday. Additionally - donations of $$ will be gladly accepted.
If you have questions feel free to contact MakerSpace 97702 at [masked] or call the MakerSpace phone number which will direct you to one of the Organizers (Mike, Bill, Budd, or Marci) [masked]
