PRIMITIVE SURVIVAL, fire, shelter, cordage hunting and trapping

We love our REI stuff, but what happens when you're separated from your gear? How good are you with your bear hands and what surrounds you? We'll cover the basics. Fire shelter cordage hunting and trapping. Also, what would you put in a small fanny pack for a 24 hour survival kit. Bring yours to share. All day event. Location is Three Creeks Meadow camp. Nation Forest road 16,    15.2 miles out of Sisters. Just turn south on Elm and go 15 miles. Watch for my Tipi on the right.

I forgot about a previous commitment so I can't make this one. But looking forward to future meet ups!

I've picked the location. Just below the Three Creeks Lake at the meadow camp ground. This is very easy to find, it is 15.2 miles from Sisters. If you are coming from Bend drive into Sisters and turn left on Elm street. go out this road for 15 miles and you will come down off a small hill and see a large meadow on the right. You won't be able to miss my tipi. I will set up my camp on Thursday and leave Sunday morning. Camps there are $14 a night if you ant to make a weekend of it. Meet at the tipi 9:30 Sat. morning. To avoid charges you'll need to park outside the camp. If you have dogs they will need to be tied. This is a beautiful place with the lake just down the road if you want to get wet.

I'm thinking of having this event just north of Camp Shermin in the Metolious Basin. This place is between two creeks, and has meadows and forest along with a view of Jefferson and three finger. It's about a 15 minute drive from sisters. Any thoughts?

Don't worry about the dogs, I'm sure they won't be a bother, and I'll bring my own lunch.

Of course. Do you think they'd be good with garlic and onions?

The new meet up sounds amazing. I wish I could go but I'm getting married that day. Next time.
