Survival Bushcraft

Every weekend thousands of people engage 3 day survival trips, only we call it backpacking. On those trips attention is given to the basics, fire shelter water and food. The old saying is, "the more you know, the less you need." We'll cover those basics with a more primitive approach. We'll meet at the McDonalds in Sisters at 10.00am and drive into the Metolius basin, about ten miles out of town. This event is for the day. Bring a lunch and what you need for the day.

A really great time! Learned so much: how to make shelters (when, where, how, why),make fire many different ways, make traps, and so much more...even made some friends through common goals and teamwork. All in one, short day.

Great meetup! We built a shelter, Made fire with handspindle, bowdrill, flint and steel, and even a flashlight lens. Made traps and threw the weapon that killed mammoths.

Sorry to have to cancel. Dealing with some health issues. I'll be there next time, though.

We will be driving about a total of 15 miles from sisters. We will only be walking about 100 yards from our parking area. It's a pretty meadow with a view Mt. Jefferson.

Bring what you need for the weather. Think in terms of building a shelter and working with your hands, light work gloves wood be good and a fixed blade knife. When the weather turns bad you learn alot! So don't be discouraged by bad weather.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
