Knapping obsidian and making Atlatls

Bring a lunch and break some Rock and make some tools. The Atlatl is a great survival weapon. Much easier to make than a bow and our ancestors were known to take mammoths with them. We'll have some targets set up and we'll compete for bragging rights.

Hi Teresa, I don't think Home Depot will have antlers. I I have and extra antler piece. (Moose).

What knapping tools do I need to bring? I am a quick study but very much a novice.

Come and hang, or if you'd like some help with putting some tools together we can make short work of it. Just bring an antler and a couple copper pipe end caps.

I am in the process of getting materials together to make some copper tools (percussion and pressure flake). I would still really enjoy attending this meetup even if I'm not breaking rocks as I missed the atlatl and dart instruction at Echoes In Time this year. Thanks for organizing this!
