Light Board Game Night @ Newk's

We have 30+ people coming to this event from other groups, so this should be an event you don't want to miss! I plan on bringing Settlers of Catan, Small World,  Bohnanza, Apples to Apples, Guillotine, Kingsburg, Saboteur, Jenga, Dixit, Yahtzee, and The Resistance, just to name a few. Feel free to bring a game of your choice just keep in mind this will be a mixed crowd of gamers and non-gamers so you might want to bring a light game along with a heavier game. This event is cross-posted with North Austin Social Group, Austin Single Gamers, Luck Dragon Geek Club, and Drinking Optional.

Frequently Asked Question (FAQ)

Do I need to know how to play the games before I attend?

No. Just come out and have fun! You can even just hang out and watch if you like.

Do I have to show up right at the time the event is scheduled?

No. We usually play several games in one outing, so just come out and join in on fun! Also, you are not expected to stay for the full duration of the event either. Stay as long as you like.

Do I have to play a game?

Again no. You are welcome to just come hang out and watch. After I've gotten my gaming fix, I like to just check out the other games being played or socialize with guests.

As far as food goes at this venue, I recommend the Italian sandwich. I also hear that the chocolate cake is really good. Michael is a fan of the chocolate peanut butter rice crispy treats.

If you get lost or you are running late and wish to tell me, you can reach me at[masked]-4132. I do not have a smart phone so I cannot check emails once I leave my apartment, so call or text me on my cell phone. Hope to see you there!

No need to RSVP if you are not going.

With the combined totals from other groups, we have gone over the 30 mark for RSVP's. This is awesome!

And I have added a 5-6 home made extension from a second copy just like the official Settlers 5-6 player extension...

Come on by Ron. I just had to limit the RSVP because I was afraid we were going to overrun Newk's.

I got King of Tokyo today in the mail. I'm also expecting an expansion for Dixit to arrive soon. I picked up a copy of Nuts! at Dragon's Lair Tuesday night.

I think we are going to have a big turn out for this one. It will be a chance to meet a lot of new people and introduce them to gaming. I'm hoping we hit 30 guests. I've never had that many and that is my goal.

Jodin do you really have 11 guests???

    November 30, 2012

    • Jodin

No, I put the number from other groups into my RSVP so people can see the actual number coming when they look at this event, but I DO actually have 11+ other people who are supposed to come out. Meetup needs to make a way for organizers to put the actual count on the event for cross-posted events.
