Hello,

There?s been a lot happening in the meetup. We had Anita Devadason step up as A Word Game Organizer after a fun event at Keria Teas in Austin. If you like Scrabble or other word games, look for these in the calendar and join us. The next one is Saturday, March 29.

How can a short month have 5 Fridays? It seems like forever until our next First Friday meetup. Please RSVP if you can make it with a Yes or No. Join the 18 who have said they will be there in March for fun games. Even if you can?t come, your RSVP gets you off of inactive status. Remember Our New RSVP Guideline: If you RSVP ?yes? for an event we DO expect your participation. So if we have a member who RSVP?s ?yes? and does not show up THREE times, they will be removed from the group. Just remember that you can change your RSVP at any time before the event and will not be penalized. Thanks for your understanding! Don?t forget that you can put game requests or announce what you are bringing as comments on the meeting page.

Remember there is no official childcare for our next meetup. We?ll just put the big kids in the room across the hall with some movies and kid games while we adults play.

We still have a lot of opportunities to game. I?ll be looking for a Saturday lunch meetup location in South Austin. If you know of such a place or want to host the event, please let us know.

According to the poll on what you would participate on, several have said they would do a two-player game day. Join us for our first Mix and Match Two-Player Game Day next Saturday. Two-player games rarely get to see the light of day with most groups. You show up at your typical invitational game day of 10 or 12 people and everyone breaks into four, five, or six-player games. It seems somewhat antisocial to just have two people play a game.

The first two-player event will take place at Caffe Panini in Round Rock on Mays just behind Academy Sports. It doesn?t look like much from the outside but they have delicious gourmet salads, coffees, loose leaf tea, desserts, and great sandwiches. They also have a lot of bistro tables perfect for small two player games. They have nice lounging areas for when you are between games as well.

This is a great time to try out some excellent couples games or share your favorites.

Keep playing,
