I hope everyone is still having a great time playing games. There are several fun opportunities to play this month. The First Friday Meetup is this Friday at 6:30. We need to know by Tuesday if you need $5 childcare so that we can make a reservation for the kids. Kids have great activities and crafts from 6:30 till 9:30. Email [address removed] about your child reservations or leave all the information including the ages, names of the children, and the names of the parents at our game night. We'll sign you up and you can reimburse us Friday. Thanks in advance for the tasty snacks and games you choose to bring.
Several members of the Central Texas Disc Golf Meetup have to be in Dripping Springs first thing Saturday morning. Please try to wrap up games by 10:00 or 10:30 Friday night.
Friday, May 16 brings board games in South Austin. This is at a private residence so please respect Lisa and David's home, their games, and their rules. This is an exciting opportunity for those in the South Austin area to get their game on!
Saturday, May 17 has another Word Games event at a restaurant in Round Rock. These casual word games events always have Scrabble and several other fun games like Boggle and My Word! as well.
If anyone else wants to host games, let me know and we'll talk about how to get it into our calendar.
Feel free to post in the message boards as well when you are looking for particular games or setting up fun games you don't mind opening to members of the meetup.
Please click and RSVP to some of these events. It keeps your status as an active member and I won't accidentally delete you when I purge inactive members.
Do you love playing entertaining board games? We play some old favorites and some newer, more innovative, strategy games. Ever hear of strategy games like Ticket to Ride, Small World, Cosmic Encounter, Settlers of Catan, or Carcassonne? How about Power Grid, Puerto Rico, Stone Age, or Tichu? Maybe your taste runs to social games like Outburst, Scattergories, or Cranium? Or are you more of a Scrabble or Boggle player - just say the word! No matter what your game is, let's play!
If you are a first-timer at one of our meetup events, please introduce yourself. Ask to join an interesting game about to start, or invite some members to play one of yours. Don't be afraid to jump in on a new game you haven't played before. We are always glad to teach new games to new members.
