This year, the Austin Chocolate Festival, benefiting Susan G. Komen For the Cure , normally held in March, will be in September. Time and place have not been posted, but I'm going ahead and reserving the date for the Food-Centrics to attend en masse.

Last year, I actually managed to be chocolated out, something I hadn't thought was possible. Fortunately, there was a "doggie box" provided in which to carry home any chocolates you couldn't consume on the spot. Champagne (included with admission) cleared the palate nicely for the next exquisite taste.

It's a lot of fun, folks. Hope you'll attend!

    Donna, I'm a bit confused. Did you set up a group rate for this particular Meetup, or is that where I go to purchase tickets for the group? Because the group did not respond (or give me funds) when asked some time back if they wanted me to purchase the tickets at a group rate, and so everyone has been responsible for getting their own ticket.

    Tricia, I called the AFC this morning to find out about the group discount. It is 15% off the price of the ticket. It is active and the group code you put in is: foodies123 when you go to purchase online. Hope this helps. Donna

    I don't know. I asked the group if they would like for me to find out, made it clear I'd need to be paid up front in order to do this, but I only got two responses. Thus, we will be buying our own tickets.

    They can be purchased now, thus my recent inquiry to the meetup regarding bulk purchase. I don't know yet how much the bulk purchase tickets would be, only that there is a discount. It is an all-day affair, but the tickets are for two-hour periods of time (to avoid overcrowding, they limit how many can go at any given time). We will be going at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
