Book Signing by The Pioneer Woman!

As you all know, I'm a Pioneer Woman admirer. (It helps that I've not made one recipe from her website that hasn't turned out fabulous!)

I thought it would be fun for us to go as a group to Ree's book signing at BookPeople. I know I'll be getting my own copy and perhaps doing some Christmas shopping.

The book signing is at 7:00 - we can meet at 6:30 and get in line together (I'm expecting there to be a line).

It's several anniversaries! It will be the two year anniversary of Helen's accident, and both Helen and Mitch's 50th birthday anniversary, plus it's Christmas!
We'd like to celebrate and give thanks to and with all of you who have helped us through the first 50 years, and especially the last two! We could not have done it without you.
As usual, we'll have a terrific spread of food, all we need is you! Feel Free to bring your favorite spirit.
We know it's the holidays, and you may have out of town guests, so by all means feel free to bring them along.

Cooking With the Pioneer Woman

As many of you may know, I'm truly addicted to The Pioneer Woman Cooks website. (And I'm a fan of her Facebook page, etc., etc.) Ree's just so much fun and down to earth and her recipes never ever fail me (in fact, they're the best I've ever made, pretty much).

So, to start off the New Year in 2010, we're going to have a Pioneer Woman Potluck. Bring your favorite dish from her website (linked above - just click on Cooking in the banner across the top of her website to get to the recipes).

I recommend eating very lightly during the day before this potluck, because you'll be wanting to eat a lot!

Your Favorite Romantic/Sexy Dish From Your Favorite Foodie Website

All foodies have their favorite online resource, be it cooking show website, blog, or discussion list where they get great recipes.

This month, we'll be exploring and sharing these resources with each other, and at the same time giving a nod to the fact that it's Valentine's Day Weekend. Peruse your favorite website, choose the entree, veggie, or dessert that strikes you as the most romantic, sexy, or sensual, and that's the dish you'll make and bring. Bring the recipe with you to share, along with the url to the website it comes from. Please post what you'll be bringing to your RSVP when you make a choice, so we'll know if we're having all desserts or all entrees or all veggies and will know if we need to fill in anywhere.

Member Donna Borden is hostessing this event. She asks that you bring whatever alcoholic beverages you might prefer; she'll be providing serving dishes and non-alcoholic beverages.
